They should be using RICO laws to go after eco-terrorists.

However, the incident has damaged the integrity of the federal agencies within their own ranks and in the communities they serve.

I think I'm gonna cry! The integrity of bureaucrats...damaged! OH NO!

If you deny that, then all of your theories are bogus!

Of course the minions are DumbocRATS, but who hired them? Republican appointees. You reserve the right to bundle anyone's arguments should you disagree. What I stated was no theory, it was fact.

Who controlled the senate and house during those years? You know that, and should stop skating around this as a scientist who documents with facts!

The Senate and House do not staff State and Federal agencies. Nor are they in charge of the rule-making process. To make you argument you apparently ignore that for much of Clintongue's term Republicans controlled both houses of Congress. You pretend to think that when Republicans hold the presidency they are powerless against a Democrap Congress, but when the situation is reversed the results are the same. Then you turn around and assign blame to a Democreep presidency even when we have a Republican Congress.

You can't have that argument both ways, Dave. You just want to believe that if we elect Republicans that this criminal stupidity and outright corruption will all go away.

I am sorry to disabuse you. They owe too many favors and don't DARE mess with the majority claim on the use of private property such as securing debt for Social Security and MedisCare payments. When Greenspan sat there and told the Congress that he needed more collaterill for the debt at both the State and Federal level you apparently didn't get the message. Your partisan preference blinds you.

Retired Fish and Wildlife Service biologist James M. Beers called the false sampling amazing but not surprising.
"I'm convinced that there is a lot of that going on for so-called higher purposes," Mr. Beers said.

And up to now such criminal activity has been cost-free.
This kind of righteous higher-purspose BS affects millions and costs billions. It is not a trivial crime.

I hope that the punishment goes far beyond these dimwits losing their jobs. About 10 years sounds right.
Time to send a clear and unambiguous message.

The rural economy depends on resource extraction, yet the left/liberal agenda is to end this. They want to concentrate us in cities where control is more easily excercised. Oh, that more Americans could muster some outrage when government goes bad. The soporific effect of TV and mass media prevents that and news such as this article is never disseminated.

The real agenda (Agenda21) is control of resources by the big guys, especially food. They use the UN and international law to get around that nasty and annoying little Constitution by saying that it is all connected to Global Commons (which they are busy screwing up). One could call it Highly Organized Crime, but then, I guess I jest did ;-)

Mr. Gordon said the false sampling aggravates an already distrustful relationship between Westerners anyone with a brain and the federal government.

I don't think it'll do much good, but if you want to write to the Gifford Pinchot Forest head ranger:

Gifford Pinchot National Forest
Forest Headquarters
10600 N.E. 51st Circle
Vancouver, WA 98682

Telephone: 360-891-5000
Fax: 360-891-5045

I'm still looking for an address of the U.S. Forest Service HQ in Washington DC as I think they ought to know that we're aware of what they're doing to our forests and our rural economy.

Why weren't they fired?

Silly Rabbit...

Willa, you've been on FR long enough to know that no Federal Employees are ever fired for any reason. Even murder.

They're only put on paid leave for a couple of months so we forget the incident, then they're put back on the job.

Of course, since we don't know their names, ("Federal officials would not name the offending employees, citing privacy concerns.") we'll never know if they've actually been banned from the project or not.

Had the deception not been discovered, the government likely would have banned many forms of recreation and use of natural resources in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Wenatchee National Forest in Washington state.

These people should be fired! I'm not surprised. The environmental wackos have crossed over the line between common sense and zealotry.

The employees have been counseled for their actions and banned from participating in the three-year survey of the lynx, listed as a threatened animal under the Endangered Species Act. Federal officials would not name the offending employees, citing privacy concerns.

Totally inadequate. These people abused their authority. They should be fired and prosecuted. Unfortunately Clinton/Babbett packed these agencies with environmental extremists. I suggest we start a letter writing campaign to get Gail Norton to fire these people.

Thanks for the ping.

Wonder when the AG will start on the Eco-Terrorists? Freeze Sierra Club's, PETA's, and ELF's assets?

Their supporters are "giving aid and comfort" to the enemies of this Nation. Freeze their supporters assets, too. Freeze ALL their ASSets.
