even if a parole board grants a release it still has to be approved by the governor. I don't know what the deal is in Texas. Last I heard, the board has to approve it, and the gov signs it.
But we don't let the governor grant parole or pardon without approval from the board.

They will accept letters from anyone who has a reason to want him to stay in. He has ran from Texas to avoid capture before, that means ANYONE could be at risk from him. Just mention that in your letter if you are willing.

The date of the hearing isn’t known. It’s not done like you see in movies. One board member calls me, notes my comments on the file, contacts him, notes his comments on the file, reads the letter that have been submitted, reads his file on his behavior. Casts their vote and mails the file to the next member.
