Most of the Federal government is contractor heavy. Actual federal employees are enjoying their paid obsolescence while the contractors work themselves to exhaustion.

Yes, disperse the Fed Gov. It’s not the 18th century where administration had to be centralized to run effectively. There are telephones and internet now. If the military can do it globally surely the Fed Gov can do it nationally.

I’m sure this is happening in many other cities besides Washington.

Mainly in states run by democrats.

Disperse government agencies around the country. All this concentrated power of deep-staters...is a very dangerous thing for the Republic.

Yes! It makes VA go blue in elections!

Anyone who thinks the state control over every aspect of private social and economic activity will eventually go back to “normal” is not thinking.

American communists have worked a hundred years to reach this point. Only way this gets undone will require a lot of guns and death.

Remember where you heard it first.

Wait until they see the lower tax revenues. The Dems are going to cry.

Folks have been fleeing the Democrat cities for quite a while now. Many of them have been hollowed out by Covid and the Rioters.

Many jobs did go virtual, but not all. Many have been lost for good and left the district.

The secondary effects have devastated the poor in DC. Street vendors, human statues and so forth are largely gone.

It's a Democrat ghost town hemorrhaging Democrat votes as we speak. IMHO it will not go Republican, but could go Independent. As the citizens are pissed at the Democrats.

Disperse government agencies around the country.

This will also have a nice side effect of flipping VA back to red.

As a veteran I have to point out that most of the people in the military are receiving a huge amount of benefits without doing a whole lot either. Most in the military never see actual combat. Alot of people in the military get disability when they get out.

i have met people who are on lifetime disability and they never even finished air force basic training. Obviously as a veteran I have no problem with people injured to combat getting disability, but a lot of other people are a different story.

When people we tell me thanks for your service, I often wondered if they realized how much I was be paid. With BAH, food allowance, free health care and a whole list of additional pays i received while being deployed i was far from poor.

Nope. Not the pandemic.

The ScamDEMic Mayor and for useful idiots did that.

Oh, well....at least they have a lovely BLM painter on their street.

I think my agency is a little more dedicated to meaningful work (CBP).

I do confess I have my personal computer fired up on another desk while I work, but that’s so I can stream Rush and find out what’s really going on...

Not the pandemic. There is no pandemic. This devastation was man-made and driven by spite.

Yep.

Many K-St/ Connecticut Ave area buildings remained boarded up through June. I'm seeing less plywood but no more openings.

What happened is this:

1. The Wuhan shut down offices.
2. The riots knocked out their windows and kept them shut.
3. Workers said, forget it, and I hate the commute anyway.
4. Companies said, okay, cheaper that way, and we'll opt out of lease renewals.
5. And NO ONE wants to be in DC in November, but PC requires that they blame it on the Wuhan, not the leftist, Marxist, racist rioters who will again destroy DC after Trump is reelected.

I expect to see plywood back up come late October, only over existing glass window, not broken ones. Count on it.

Bringing in lousy workers into the office won’t improve their productivity. Those who slacked in the office are still slacking now. However, with all the office distractions out of the way, OUR PRODUCTIVITY HAS DOUBLED. Work from home is the real deal.

Don’t think that federal workers typically spent much more time than being actually productive pre-china plague. They just had more useless meetings.

I read that many younger tech workers in San Francisco and Silicon Valley want to go back to the office. They are tired of working from home in their cramped apartments...They might have room mates etc. They do have a point.

They even had meetings about meetings. Maybe those have been cut out.

I doubt that. The political value of the "rioters" will be gone after Nov 4th. Look for a major crack down by mayors.

Oh, no, DC will be a mess if Trump wins. The kill switch is only if Bid n (I’m colorblind so I have no idea what is the character, if any, between “Bid” and “n” on the signs) wins.

Think 2016, before even the shutdown and the amount the anarchists have been able to prepare and mobilize nationally since, plus plenty of experience over the last few months: they will not stop when Trump wins. DC will be on lockdown for his inauguration, but they’ll still have space. My wife tells me that her building on 18th St. (near K) still has plywood up since the May/June riots, in expectation of more of the same.

The tell, as in 2016 and during Bush era protests, will be piles of protest signs and materials gathered outside of lefty restaurants, churches, and shelters.

great post. Unfortunately the Dems are intentionally handing Trump a second term shit sandwich when the multi-trillion dollar commercial mortgage market comes unwound.
