I just bought a DVD-R/-RW drive, and am wondering if I should have bought a DVD+R/+RW drive.

If anyone wants to get me the DVD+R drive to alleviate my doubt, I'd appreciate it. I already have the 5.25" bay prepared for it.

When a user is banned, they get an explanation. Whoever is doing the ban (Jim, in this case) has to fill out a field in a form with the reason. The system displays this to the bannee when they try to post or freepmail.

And the reason this guy could still post is that he signed up a new account to post this.

His agenda is pretty clear, I think.

Seriously... I don't know what you did, wasfree, but you've been here a long time and I think I understand how you must feel. It seems like you should have gotten a warning before the ultimate act of Banning. Four years is a long time to hang your hat in one place.

I made a mistake. I was confusing wasfree with someone else. Those are his posts, but a moderator banned him, not Jim.

Jim was the one who "nuked" him, however, which purges the system of all the user's posts.

It is not fair to leave a post like this without telling us a) What your original screen name was, and b) the circumstances leading to your expulsion.

How can we sympathize with you without knowing the circumstances or even who you were?

Maybe the moderator was heavy-handed. But we'll never know because you didn't tell the full story. Were you warned before for inappropriate behavior? I find it difficult to believe that the moderators would willy-nilly ban a longtime Freeper for a single infraction of the rules. There must have been a prior history.

I know just about all the old-time Freepers, and if I knew who you were, I might be able to go to bat for you.
