I honestly never knew you were this incredible at written argument ....you are always very non argumentative ....unlike me..and polite
I bet your Husband chooses his skirmishes wisely...lol
Really truly well done
What is the deal with these folks
They appear rather naive or in denial about black crime rates and what those of us who live with it deal with
Fodder for genocide or defeat when humanity takes a nosedive as it invariably does
BTTT
You can't cover everything (and your reply is brilliantly focused - have you ever thought about law school? canon law?) but a couple of points -
This whole "stand your ground/duty to retreat" controversy is a non issue. The SYG laws arose in states where the common law right to self defense had been so severely limited that innocent people were being prosecuted. It must have been 20 years ago that a lady in Virginia was the victim of a home invasion by a drugged or drunken man with a ball bat. She grabbed her baby and a revolver and ran to her basement, the guy pursued her, cornered her and attacked her. She shot him dead. She was INDICTED for MURDER because she could have left her house by a basement door, presumably before he cornered her. The SYG law in VA was a direct reaction to that case, a reasonable one it seems to me. IIRC, the race of the victim and perp were irrelevant (I think both were white but not sure. It was not an issue.)
While your Friend friends may be willing to die rather than defend themselves (or their babies), they should not deprive others of that right.
Another point is that Martin was acting strangely - walking on the grass, peering into windows, staring at Zimmerman while provocatively putting his hand inside his waistband as if to reach for a weapon - all in the pouring rain. That's not "profiling", that's describing a suspect. Never mind that a "slim jim" was found in the bushes nearby, and Martin had a history of possession of stolen goods and burglary tools . . .
These people have become what they say they hate -
Did you notice the update at #38?

I was never much into the gun issue, you know? Wasn't my thing. But a good gun in the hands of a good person, with good judgment, is an instrument of justice.
I will still pray for the repose of Trayvon's soul. He cooperated with evil, but the Lord knows all.
Have you seen the NC Register’s editorial? They’ve amended it once to change “murder” to killing. It needs more work. And then one of the editors got snippy in the comments. I think they need to issue an apology for both the ill conceived editorial and the snarky response.
Thanks for the tip on the Register editorial. I am so disappointed with them. I went there and left them one of the GOOD pieces of my mind!
Good lord
