I think y’all mostly get too cold some winters for them. They don’t like cold weather.

One of our projects this summer is rechickening and building a tractor for them.

Chiggers tear me up. They don’t touch my wife. I have to wear pants and boots in the yard in the summer. She wears sandals.
I’ve used sulfur and bug repellent and anything else. Even leaning out of a chair and touching the ground gets chigger bites on my arm.
We have fire ants too. They sting and leave bumps but that’s not chigger bad!
