Mostly the lawyers
Yep. Garbage journalism is hyping this big lie.
The one I admire in this saga is Jason Whitlock - there’s no upside in trying to buck the narrative when it comes to stories marinated in race in contemporary America.
Thank you for posting this. It is well worth reading the entire article.
It’s a family matter.
If they can’t work it out themselves, then let the courts decide.
My only criticism of the Tuohy family, if all facts are as put down, is that they should have included Michael in his share of the profits if he, in fact, did not receive payment for the movie rights.
It was his story that allowed the movie to make $400 million, so he should have received compensation just as everybody else did. The movie would not have made that money if Oher didn’t go into football, but into accounting or something.
Without Oher, nobody would have made a movie about the Tuohy family in the first place. There’d have been no reason for it.
Another Jussie POS...
According to the Tuohy's, they split the payouts with Oher equally, and when Oher stopped cashing the checks, they opened a trust for his son and deposited the checks there. I would also say the movie was more about the Tuohys that Michael Oher, even if his success was what made the story so compelling.
Since the family responded and gave "the rest of the story", suddenly Oher wants his privacy.
'I am disheartened by the revelation shared in the lawsuit today,' Oher told People.com in a statement. 'This is a difficult situation for my family and me. I want to ask everyone to please respect our privacy at this time. For now, I will let the lawsuit speak for itself and will offer no further comment.'
Most interesting: The family that took her m in is worth $200 million.
ROFL post #9
Probably long since dead from drugs or a gang beat down.
Same with Crapperdink. Both are ungrateful pos who need to grow the heck up and start taking responsibility for their behaviors.
“No good deed goes unpunished.”
It really is sadly true.
Sean Tuohy is a huge Ole Miss booster. Do you really think he and LeeAnne would’ve taken in a 150 pound band nerd, instead of an already 5-* prospect who was coveted by all the big SEC schools?
The thing is, Michael Oher was not a 5* prospect when they took him in. He became one yes. And of course Sean Tuohy is a huge Ole Miss booster- -he's an alum and he also played basketball while there.
Their stories are a bit different...
The Kaepernicks adopted Colin as an infant and raised him. AFAIK, they never made a movie or wrote a book profiting off his story. He’s the one who profited off his story and threw his adoptive parents under the bus.
OTOH, Oher was 18 when he signed papers with the Tuohys. At that age, maybe he misunderstood, believing he was being adopted? I have nothing against the Tuohys. The news reports say they split the movie proceeds with Oher evenly. But, I can see why Oher might’ve hated the way Hollywood portrayed him in the movie.
I didn’t like that movie, either. I can no longer stand Bullock.
moral of the story (if you’re whitey) don’t try to help black people
Without the Tuohy family, do you think anyone would have made a movie about Michael Oher, living on the street and his crack whore mother and 11 other kids?
