Every debate Trumps been absent from still goes up in the polls.

Enough debates. They make every candidate look bad. Including DeSantis. He is rarely mentioned after one of those silly debates.

What does Trump lose? Time that could be spent doing something constructive. But the more important question is, what does he have to gain? Nothing. He already has the nomination in the bag. Why would he want to do anything to draw out the process any longer than it has to be? What’s the benefit? Bolster DeSantis’s false hopes so he stays in the race a month longer before dropping out? No. The sooner Trump wraps things up, the sooner he can focus on other things.

Debates are stupid anyhow. I never watch them. If you want to determine what a person will do in the future, discover what he did in the past.

The also-rans blew it by hitching their wagon the the GOPe, participating in kabuki debates moderated by uni-party swine.
Trump is the nominee to beat and the only way any of the also-rans could gain any credibility would be to offer to let Trump select the forum and moderators.
