Note on article: I am surprised that the writer used such an un-PC term like 'Welshed on a deal'(I have a lot of Welsh friends) .... Actually, you'll note that "welshed" was in quotation marks, as it apparently is a quote, with attribution. The writer is just reporting what was said, in the words of the person who said it.

I recall learning somewhere that reward offers are legally enforceable (unless California has some kind of oddball statute). But that's the least of what this couple should be getting. I think their lawyer is going to do just fine with this.

The poor little dog had finally escaped that woman, and these people brought it back. Can't blame them... They thought they were doing the right thing... but it won't end well for the dog. ;~D

In subsequent conversations with authorities, Paul and Jenelle were told that the owners of the dog had made a theft complaint, apparently failing to tell police about published reports that Vida had run away from home before
It sounds as though the model claimed her dog had been stolen/dognapped, etc., thus the police involvement...

PRWEB is a press release service. I'm guessing that this "story" was written by the plantiffs' lawyer, and would take every word in it - including "and," "or," and "the" - with several pounds of salt.

Main Entry: welsh
Pronunciation: 'welsh, 'welch
Function: intransitive verb
Etymology: probably from Welsh, adjective
1 : to avoid payment -- used with on
2 : to break one's word : RENEGE - welsh·er noun
It is actually an accepted terminology, unlike "Jewed" or any of the other offensive slangs you quoted. It may be a bit of a colloquialism, but it isn't the offensive term you think it is. If your Welsh friends are offended, they need thicker skin.
