The white-throated rail bird can presently be found on the island of Aldabra. Early fossils of the bird suggest it lived there thousands of years ago and died out because it could not fly to higher ground when rising sea levels threatened its safety. Unless the entire land mass they were living on went underwater this hypothesis is absurd.

This article is about micro evolution, not evolution as held by the false, current, popular scientific consensus. This article is about change, variation within a species, which is derived only from preexisting genetic material, not from new genetic information. The genetic information was already there and refined into a different expression. It may have refined in the same direction as it previously had under the same environmental conditions. It would have been derived from the same type of genetic sources as the original.
The creature may well have not of become extinct as they supposed. That is another strong possibility.
