There’s two forms of K2. Neither interfere with anti coagulation drugs. K1 does exacerbate the blood thinners.

K2 and magnesium is needed for utilization of D3 to support the proper absorption of calcium.

Ginkgo doesn’t thin the blood. It dilates the capillaries.

That’s an awfully long ad.

She repeats herself a lot. It’s like those links where you have to keep clicking to find the end after they meander all over the place following odd rabbit trails.

correct on mag. so many of these ‘experts’ completely omit discussion of the MOTHER of all minerals; magnesium.

It is required for D and calcium to absorb (among another 350 processes)

Hmm that is directly, opposite of what most articles o. The subject state. They state that k is needed so that stones don’t form, as it supposedly, redirects calcium in the. Blood stream back to the bones- as your article suggests- that seems to,be the standard viewpoint from all I’ve read onmthe issue.

The article seems to be saying 2 things opposite, that k causes calcium to remain in blood, then in another sentence that k redirects calcium back to bones? Am I reading it wrong?

When I was severely low in d (the number was 8) they put me on high dose d. And I got stones like mad- the stones stopped when I stopped the d.

your problem was lack of mag, not abundance of D.

“There’s two forms of K2. Neither interfere with anti coagulation drugs. K1 does exacerbate the blood thinners.”

Where did you get your M.D.?

For example, vitamin D can be obtained with a walk in some sunshine and fresh air, or just sitting on your rocking chair on your porch. The sunshine provokes vitamin D synthesis in your body.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

That would be a “no”, it’s not that easy to get.

If you want the truth about getting Vit D, check this out .... researchers, not supplement sellers. This is pretty much “everything D”, not just in relation to COVID.

Ideally we will all go to plant based nutrition and not have to take extras....its hard to do in North America because of growing seasons limit our access to fresh greens and veggies let alone sunlight....

Life Extension Mag is pretty diligent in what research it uses in its articles. I did read about the K2 study with Japanese women.

LE also does not shy away on caveats with supplement use.
I’m going to need more than this woman’s word to believe that I am doing harm taking K2 & D. My doctor monitors my D levels and they are very good. He stays very informed on nutritional supplements so I will bring this up when I next see him.

An example of why one should retain their natural skepticism: My heart med (propafenone) carries a warning about grapefruit juice interaction with it. My cardiologist just shook his head and said I would have to consume 2 gallons a day to have any negative interactions. Who do you know who drinks that much grapefruit juice?

Good info.

I had really just kept some vitamin k around in case of certain kinds of poisonings.

***And vitamin K is found in delicious salads, vegetables and fruits. ***

I am on warfarin due to an artificial heart valve. Vitamin K will mess up my protime real quick!

This article is an endless pile of bs to see how high it can get. If the author wanted to claim Vit D & K cause kidney stones or something - say it and prove it!

Instead miles of words wasted on saying things like they are easy to get from your diet.

If there was a point, it was that these vitamins increase your calcium and that might lead to kidney stones and who wants kidney stones.

The article is a word smorgasbord with little substance.

You've got that backwards. K promotes clotting and can offset blood thinners.

Here’s an example of her saying nothing:

“The trouble I have is that K isn’t testable, so how do you know you need it? How do you know when to stop it? When you pass a kidney stone?”

Huh???
