Not surprisingly, one of the big issues is with her take on vit d and sunshine. If you use sunscreen, you block as much as 90% of the creation of vit. D...depending on the SPF.

There is far more ... but I’ll not spend more time with an advert.

“Hmm that is directly, opposite of what most articles o. The subject state. They state that k is needed so that stones don’t form, as it supposedly, redirects calcium in the. Blood stream back to the bones- as your article suggests- that seems to,be the standard viewpoint from all I’ve read onmthe issue.”

I noticed the same thing. It’s good to consult with your doctor as well as read lots of scientific opinions on the topic. Not saying she is wrong but ...

Dr Ryan Cole says that it’s hard to get D from the sun up North and in most places in winter.

I dunno- it’s happened twice when i had to take high vit d amounts- and stopped when i came off the D- both times-

I used to get crazy stones- had over 60 one year, with lots of small sand-like stuff- red in color- during the year as well- next year was around 40 stones- then they stopped- then i had the low D issue a few times in the following years- that’s when the stones came back-

This is why I stick with Vitamin P. This is found in high quality pale ales and lagers.

and, as mentioned, you can’t absorb D (or calcium) if you’re low in mag, therefore calcium can form stones (ie calcify) all over your body, including kidneys, when low in mag.

whatever you do though, do not take mag with oxide in it. Best forms are glycinate, malate, taurate

Not really. It only interferes with old style thinners like Coumadin and Warferin.

Modern ones like Eliquis, not at all.

Suzy’s full of carp. The K2 takes the calcium from your system and pushes it into your bones. It actually helps stop calcium buildup in your arteries. I take it everyday with the D3.

I always laugh at someone’s poorly presented argument but still try to read the hard facts. I didn’t see it in here. She repeats herself for 3 of the 7 or 8 reasons ‘Because you make it/get it/so easy!’ those aren’t reasons to not take K2 + D3. And she has a lot of ‘I think so’s and maybe’s and My-Opinion’s. No studies of facts with the kidney stone frequency or heart issues. I’ve been taking it since April 2020 (since Covid) - the K2+D3(5000units) as a preventative - and heart doctor in Sept said all bloodworks were great and heart was strong. But hey - that’s my anecdotal against hers.

That was my response, as well.

There is no Upper Tolerable Limit for K or K2 vitamins, but older coagulants do have problems with Vitamin K, unfortunately.

i have problems with mag- causes D bad (due to medical condition)- I’ve tried a few different kinds, but can’t find one that doesn’t cause the D- unfortunate- i do know I’m low when my muscles are painful and ‘burning’ (feels like the lactic acid burn when you overtax your muscles- only mine feel that way al l the time- even at rest- not sure what’s causing it- but Mag does help relieve it a little- )

be specific when reviewing the label; both the front AND the back. If the Mag includes any oxide, you’re going to get diarrhea. Get DaVinci brand of tri mag, which is the 3 best absorbable forms in one. you will like it. each cap is only 75mg but you’ll want to take 4-8 per day, split through the day to get your stores of mag up

The sunshine provokes vitamin D synthesis in your body.

Nice collection of facts, and much appreciated.

I recall a post here within the past couple of weeks that it takes more than mere daylight. The K from sunlight is constrained to the reddish band, and depending on how far north of the ecliptic you are, and is obliterated by chemicals in our biosphere. There was something about 45 degrees above the horizon, and on our country most people are too far north of the ecliptic to benefit from it. Sorta. Memory isn't what it used to be.
