Hens will lay until they can't anymore. Rooster or no. It's a biological process. You don't need a rooster for eggs, just to have fertilized eggs for the next generation.

They are not “gay”! It is already known that two male penguins will adopt an egg or a young to care for it. Nothing more than a survival strategy. The zoo officials created an artificial situation, and the two responded.
To ask an indelicate question, does the same sex “couple” engage in those practices that human homosexuals engage in? The fact that they hang out together does not indicate that they engage in those practices.

But here is what the big cats do NOT do: Stick their penises up another cat’s butt. They may masturbate, etc...but I’ve not heard of a case of anal penetration.

I remember when I first experienced gerbils with babies. As you said, the father would sit on the newborns while mama ate and sometimes rested. These male penguins are doing the same thing. They don’t try to mate; they are just roommates.
This is a hit piece from the media to try to go to lengths to show us how animals are gay, too. It’s a choice, people. It’s behavioral. Behaviors are CHOICES. We may all have tendencies of one kind or another, but we have choices that we make every day on which behaviors we will act upon.
