In the Clinton years, Whitehouse.gov was the official White House website.

Whitehouse.com was the porn site.

The White House was also a porn site.

I don’t remember that. I lurked for many years before signing up, and when I did it was just like it is today.

If I recall, the differences I noticed were mostly in the display. I remember when it changed, I didn’t like it. Now I can’t even remember the original version.

I liked the fact that we could easily look up our sign-on number.

Interesting Wikipedia article:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Republic

What is interesting is that is not a vicious attack—so maybe we are really are below the radar.

My simple rule for determining whether Wikipedia is in attack mode—Do they use the word “extremist” to describe a person/group?

In this case (so far) the answer is “no”.

Cool post... The IUMA is a very cool site I had forgot about. They have music archived you are not going to ever find anywhere else. :)

Dan's Gallery of the Grotesque made the Internet, but it's long since dead and buried.

Whitehouse.com is no longer a porn site, but now seems to be a political betting site.
