Very good comeback with useful information. I would suggest using a stronger phrase than "some believe". Something like "other research has shown", or any phrasing that would remove the conspiracy/religious tone.

But, that might just me...

The words “some believe” came from a patch and paste from an article that mentioned that very little research has been done concerning the dangers of the altered crops. They have found some, but there may be more out there to include some fairly dangerous possibilities.

But when profits are in the mix people’s agendas get in the way and most times they are worded to meet the need using talk around or just straight lies. A perfect example is the vaccinations.

There are a number of products in our past that fall under the same problem like DDT, Heroin, and our newest blight fentanyl which was developed for pain management treatment of cancer patients. A long time one is alcohol. Ten million years ago, for some of our earliest evolutionary ancestors, the smell of fermentation was a signal that fruit was at its ripest and most calorically dense. All it needed was a good marketing agent. The newest one getting the “oh Lord” is aspirin. Days ahead it will be beat into submission by someone and their cause. Might be protecting the aspirin tree as a home for some type of worm.

The article wasn’t very specific, but in the US, gmo corn isn’t used for food crops. It’s used for making fuel alcohol for cars.

The harvest yield is still dependent upon variable factors that normally impact crop growth such as soil fertility, temperature, moisture, planting schedules, pests etc.

…92% of corn planted was GMO corn...

…While a lot of GMO corn goes into processed foods and drinks, most of it is used to feed livestock, like cows, and poultry, like chickens...

You are absolved in the name of the Verb, Adverb, and Gerund. ;-D

Seriously though, the GMO issue seems very dicey to me. Scientists can't possibly know enough to evaluate the affect those things might have up the food chain.

“Scientists can’t possibly know enough to evaluate the affect those things might have up the food chain.”

Man has been surrounded by far more failures than successes when it comes to invention and understanding what it means in the long run. And scientists have somehow come to the conclusion that they are on the edge of deity with the discoveries of cloning and changing of DNA while calling it a success because a part of what they did worked somewhat. And on other miraculous inventions they were really just lucky they didn’t get loose and kill people around the countryside like Frankenstein’s monster.

I mentioned the covid vaccine. They still aren’t truly licensing it because, I feel, of the ramifications they are still discovering negative to people using them so they won’t get sued. And that is all about money and politics and the fear it will get intertwined so they have to crash and burn because they have no explanation, stupid or not.

“ No”

I’m not familiar with farming techniques aside from growing my own hydroponic veggies. What is heirloom?

They do spread pollen though. And GM seed companies have persecuted farmers whose own non GM crops have been influenced by GM pollen.
