Seriously dealing with someone who's electrolytes are out of balance is no fun. They are off their noodle but are convinced they are fine.

Almost, but not quite, as bad as trying to reason with a democrat.

I look at those packages of ramen at the store and the amount of sodium in them makes my hair stand on end.

Having said that, WHO, stay away and leave us alone, already!

I scrub my cast iron skillet out with kosher salt. That’s way more salt than I would ever eat in one day.

Salt doesn’t hurt. Salt is necessary for pretty much every aspect of life, biologically. It is involved in all thinking and breathing and movement. All. Without it you will die. The threshold for excess is much higher than the government thinks. Remember what they used to say about eggs. Then butter, which gave us margarine and we experienced much greater mortality from margarine than we did from butter. Then they came after our sugar and gave us high fructose corn syrup. That has helped a lot. The food pyramid with its heavy requirements of carbohydrates and avoiding animal fats and protein but animal fats and proteins are much better than carbs which are the cause of being fat. If WHO says salt is bad then I want more salt.

“Most people in the world consume about 10.8 grams of salt a day,

I suspect total salt, including road salt is in the calculation.

Consumption and ingestion are different things.......

“I watched my grandparents live to a ripe old age eating bland low salt food on their doctor’s orders and I think I’d rather go out a decade earlier and enjoy some flavor in the meantime.”

My grand dad had retired at age 65 and loved his salt. However, his daughters, including my mother nagged him about him taking a salt shaker to work to get salt with his lunch.

They nagged him until he died in his mid 70’s.

My summer before my senior year in college, I lived with my grandmother. She had a great garden and was a good cook. I often bought meat for our dinner and grilled it. I used a lot of salt, and on Friday or Saturday, I made a pizza for dinner with salt. She loved her salt and told me not to tell her daughters/including my mother.

When I got ready to go back to college, my sister was at granny’s for the ride to our college. I took both of them out to dinner, the last night at granny’s..

Our grandmother was the Queen of home fried chicken, and she wanted to go to the KFC. So we went, ate dinner there and bought her a mini bucket to dine on after we went off to college. She told all of her friends and even her daughters how good the KFC chicken was.

One of my male cousins was starting a pizza business. When he came to visit her, he bought a good supply of his pizzas for there and her after he went back to college/work.

She passed in her mid 70’s in 1962. A full life and lots of good food cooked by her and as a thank yous from her GK’s, KFC and pizza.

I totally trust the WHO and the CDC for health advice. I also believe Bill Gates is the best person to listen to when it comes to communicable diseases. And Joe Biden is the greatest president we ever had because the economy is roaring and there is no inflation.

...Let us decide what we do and do not want to eat, drink, smoke, or otherwise use!
-------------
We could do that, but you would have to do away with socialized medicine, Medicaid, Medicare, etc.. Almost 70% of healthcare costs are paid by the government now and they need to keep their costs down...same reason for things like helmet laws, seatbelt laws, expensive/mandated car "safety features", etc., etc..

Who wants all our food to taste like hospital food.

Bland, no salt, no pepper, no spices and over/under cooked mush.

It’s worth leaving a few years on the life table, especially at the end in a nursing home.

Hand me my super sized salt shaker!

“I would suggest that keto and coffee will add about 10-20 points to your IQ.;-)! “

Without our morning coffee, our IQ drops 10-20 points.

We are never hungry on a Med/Keto diet. My wife keeps a small countertop in our kitchen doorway, covered with fresh fruit/veggies, dried almonds and walnuts. If we get hungry between meals we snack on those goodies.

That seems to work for us. My wife will be 83 in a few weeks and is 5 #’s lighter than her wedding weight, 62 years ago.

I still fit in my 20-40 year old dress/sport coat jackets a and slacks.

"I would suggest that keto and coffee will add about 10-20 points to your IQ.;-) That pushes mine up to about 80.

If I start identifying as a minority, I think I can get into medical school."

Why go to medical school? Move to San Francisco, and you'll get paid $97K/yr. for 250 years, a house for $1, AND $5M in Reparations!

Why work?

They are recycling this from decades ago.

Then, ‘sea salt’ became the go-to because it was, uh, less salty.

The daily pearl-clutches become tiring.

How soon before they warn that the green in broccoli is bad?
