Very innovative. I doubt the photographer had to wait too long to get the snap of the coeds turning up their pretty little noses at the public spectacle. DW has the goods:

In Europe, they work because they are properly maintained and cleaned. You have to pay an euro to use the facilities. They should do the same in NYC if they are serious about this proposal.

Problem is, that no one in New York City, other than European tourists, would have a Euro to put in the slot.

I was in Zadar, Croatia, last month, where it cost 40 cents (Croatia recently adopted the Euro) to get into the public restroom at the bus station. A couple of German women were in trouble because they only had a 50 cent coin, but fortunately I was able to give them change.

They should make it $5. That way, it'll keep out the bums.

If it was $1, most people would complain about the cost. $5 would be unreasonable. The government keeps trying to force $1 coins on the public but the public won’t accept them. So it would have to be some combination of smaller coins. Maybe 50 cents would be reasonable. The bums can do like they do in San Francisco. The problem would be gays using them as places for sexual encounters.

LOL. Within a week (or less) any public restroom would be made unusable due to the filthy habits of the homeless drug addicts. When hubby and I go out these days, we just take our motor home so we will have our own restroom—even to the grocery store. Public restrooms everywhere (no matter the type of business) are just too filthy to consider using at all.
