Personal growth for many men is simply learning new skills and becoming more proficient in their work, earning more, managing it better. A lot of the people-skills growth flows as a consequence.
I told my son the other day while riding back from attempting to repair one of our stranded vehicles, “This is a man’s life: Working, or fixing things that don’t.”

Well that’s a reasonable explanation why i need bourbon, because i have none of that except for what i do.
