I've been joking about this for years. Whenever they couldn't explain something they added "dark matter" to the equation.
A galaxy spinning in the "wrong" direction? Dark matter. Planets not "behaving as they should"? Dark matter. Galaxies "moving slower than models suggest"? Dark Matter.
Anyway, this is another theory to be debated.

Could we speed that up for Democrats and Tyrants?

Maybe there was Dark Matter, but it was all destroyed by Climate Change.
(I don’t mean to brag, but that’s a brilliant hypothesis. Where do I go to pick up my Nobel Prize in Physics?)

We don’t know how it happened so we just make shiiite up, like “Dark Matter”.
Why not Unicorn Farts?
Would be nice if they just said, this is what we know, but this other stuff we don’t, but here’s some ideas about stuff we are working on.

The fabric of the cosmos, as we currently understand it, comprises three primary components: ‘normal matter,’ ‘dark energy,’ and ‘dark matter.’ >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
You mean they finally figured out just who and what both Fauni Willis and Letitia James truly are?
I hope this does not segue into fascist dark matter pu$$y whipping southern gentlemen.
I mean either the dark matter is, or it is not!
Make up your minds!

dark matter constitutes ~27% of the universe, ordinary matter <5% and ~32% dark energy
—
So if dark matter does not exist, what of dark energy? The theory, as written in the article, does not account for dark energy.
