The math pretty much has shown there is a massive body and has predicted its orbit as well, consistent with the theory of it being the culprit, just haven’t been able to actually observe it directly yet.

Given how far away it is, this isn’t overly surprising... but it’s beyond clear that some massive body, is indeed out there orbiting the sun on a plain that is not on the celestial plain of the rest of the solar system. Sooner or later it will be observed... and it will be interesting to see what exactly it is..
