They should go back to 16 games. There is a limit to what the human body can take. They should only have Thursday night games after a bye week.
Most of our presidents aren't really worth celebrating as it is so we might as well have something fun that weekend.

In the Navy, many commands have either that Monday off or a late start. COs know a lot of people will be drinking and partying and don't want DUIs.
The Founding Fathers never celebrated Presidents' Day. They'd have likely scoffed at the idea.
Anyways, the holiday used to be Washington's birthday, a worthy day of honor. But today? Do we celebrate Clinton, LBJ, and Obama as well as Washington?
I'd rather get drunk and watch the Super Bowl.

President’s Day doesn’t celebrate modern presidents, it celebrates Washington mostly, and other early ones, although they throw Lincoln in the mix.

It’s a bit of a side point, but I’d get rid of President’s Day altogether. We fought a war to get rid of a king. But now we treat presidents as if they were kings. Special salutes, special anthems (‘Hail to the Chief’), special days.

It’s 100% voluntary, but it doesn’t help the game to be stupid. Why not change the rules so that teams only have two downs? Why not switch to a round ball? Why not make the QB wear a bag over his head?
