I don't always agree with Mark Steyn, but I agree 100 % with this one. I wrote something very similar last week on another forum I frequent. When it comes to actually doing something about much of anything, the UN is, if you'll excuse the expression, as useless as tits on a bull.

The UN system is broken beyond repair. The Security Council was unable to agree even on a resolution merely expressing some criticism of the Sudanese Government - China, Pakistan and Algeria scuppered that

No more UN for US-list

If people want on or off this list, please let me know.

Lets get a conversation going.

What will it take to get out, get all the way out of our UN entanglements.

Certainly Ron Paul has tried legislatively to get us out of the UN, but what about the WTO and the myriade of UN treaties implemented in the trade agreements?

What about UNEP, ICLEI and other UN organizations that give the walking orders to our EPA, our cities and local governments?

What about the UN/corporate sponsorships that promote the UN agenda through business and trade?

What about the OECD?

How do we tackle this monster? Where do we start first?

The UN system is broken beyond repair.

Actually it works just fine for the majority of its members. It gives them legitimacy and plenty of chances to line their pockets and annoy, harrass and confound the Americans.

The system isn't broken - it's just not a system that is designed to do anything we should be wanting done.

We start by showing people around us what kind of hypocrites the UN are.
