"There was a time in America where the Homosexuals and the Atheists didn't show there disgusting selfs, now they are like Roaches, any way to stamp them out????"
I don't think so. We have something called a Constitution that guarantees people living in this country can be atheists. Did you forget about that?
BTW, it's "their," not "there" and "selves," not "selfs."
Every group has its troublemakers.
Why isn't there's "something we can do about it." How about writing letters protesting the LACK of a tree in public places, demanding our right to be treated with the same respect as an athiest, (for crying out loud) or demanding in mass letters and protest to show us where in the Constitution the words "separation of church and state" are printed? (Just show me the word "separation" and I'd be happy!)
I think if we made just as much noise and demanded just as much attention, then our voices would be heard - and ultimately acknowledged. They'd have no choice.
I said those 2 groups did not try to voice there opinion over the majority like they do now, they were the minority and that is where they should remain...
"A few crackpots in Malden MA ..."
A few too many it would appear.
I guess they would rather hear the muezzin calling the Mooslems to "prayer" 5 times a day. Of course, Mooslems absolutely abhor hearing bells...one of the reasons they live in tightly packed ghetto-type areas in the US or anywhere.
Funny how these things didn't strike fear in the elderly or make children hysterical until the last year or so. Didn't bother people in the 1920's, 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's . . . just the new millenium. How strange! Must be some millenium effect. Perhaps the Congress could write a bill and spend a quadrazillion dollars on finding out what this strange phenomenon might be.
I am quite sure the people she is refering to would be persons like O'Hare, who have tried to stop the practice of religon......
Thinking the same thing! Just how can one be an atheist and a committed Jew at the same time?? The mind reels!!
"I don't mean you...But stamp out Athesim IMHO would be a good thing..I say this to you.I pray for you to see GOD for who he is and I hope he will show you the Blessings of how wonderful he is.
"
You don't? You said you wanted to stamp out atheists. I'm an atheist. How would you stamp out atheism, then? You see, you're making these broad statements, but you can't support them. Stamping out people who don't agree with you on questions of religion is a very bad, very un-American sort of thing to say.
Again, please think before you write.
The church just celebrated its 150th Anniversary. I doubt that these neighbors have been there longer.
"The same obsession to visit every thread about religion.
"
I see that you are here, as well. I explained why threads on religion interest me. In this thread, someone is talking about "stamping out" atheists. That's why I visit these threads.
Quite the opposite, it has been adapted into the holiday from Pagan rituals that were practiced by druids, and the such. It represents "NATURE", not Christ!
Heck most of the stuff Christmas, Easter, and Hallows Eve is practicing today, isn't in support of God, Family, or Christianity. It has been adopted from some other religion!
Wonder if an atheist realizes he's asking the City Hall to support his religion, and that is "There is not God, and we are our own Gods, we make our own rules!"
Heck by him asking to not display the """Christian""" Tree, he's saying that it's also against what he percieves to be right! So funny!!
"I am quite sure the people she is refering to would be persons like O'Hare, who have tried to stop the practice of religon......"
Then, as I suggested, she should be more clear in what she means. If she wishes to "stamp out" atheists, then she's speaking about me. I'm an atheist, but I'm not opposed to Christmas trees in public buildings, for pete's sake.
Yet, she wants to "stamp out" atheists. Do you wonder that I ask what she means by that?
I will say this I do not think Atheists have a right over the majority of GOD loving people in America, they need to take a back seat, because this country is founded on Judeo Christian Theology and principles.
"I will say this I do not think Atheists have a right over the majority of GOD loving people in America, they need to take a back seat, because this country is founded on Judeo Christian Theology and principles."
That's a clearer statement, then. Thanks. For a minute there, I thought you wanted to stamp ME out, and I'd object strenuously to that. All atheists are not alike, missyme. The only thing we share is a disbelief in deities and other supernatural entities.
The problem with this is that a glut of letters from Christians demanding that they be treated with the same respect as athiests (an thus there should be more Christmas trees displayed), might actually serve to bolster the athiest's argument that Christmas trees are religious symbols. The stronger argument is that there are millions of people out there that celebrate Christmas as a purely secular holiday. When you think about it, a kid growing up in a non-religous home could celebrate Christmas every year without ever knowing that there was any tie-in to Christianity whatsoever. Almost all mainstream Christmas movies and TV specials are celebrating a secular Christmas. How often do you hear Christ mentioned in "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"; "A Christmas Story"; "Frosty the Snowman"; or any of the gazillion interpretations of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol"? When you go out shopping, you see reindeer, elves, and Santa------and he's not up on a cross.
This Bellevue chiropractor is a world-class jerk. It's not only Christians that he would deny the holiday to.
