He's too old and too sick. Nominations to the SCOTUS are too valuable to waste on symbolism. We need to nominate real conservatives who are in their 40's and can serve for decades to come.
This is great. Now the Dims get to understand raw fist poker.. taught by a master....
"We need to nominate real conservatives who are in their 40's and can serve for decades to come."
AMEN!
WTG Mr. President!!! Keep spending that capital!
You picked up on some of the subtleties also. The article seems to say all the right things but it's obviously difficult for the writer to say/type 'em. "Bush says"; the "White House" says yadda yadda. The "pink" still shines through.

Agreed. Natural born leaders like President Bush don't come along everyday. If the "Go along to get along" Republicans in Washington, especially in the senate, would stop posturing for their "collegues" they might learn a thing or two about leadership.
Wow! Truly fantastic! What a Christmas present from "the White House."
RUSH BUMP God bless, Mr. Limbaugh and Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you too, Dog!
I like Robert Bork, but he is in his late seventies. The President needs to get people in their fourties in there so they're around for a while.
Who is that? (I can't google with a cat in my lap.)
Agree in principle, but here is the problem:
Would you rather have ten good years of Robert Bork, or thirty years from a potential turncoat like Souter or Kennedy?
I would like to see Bork in SCOTUS for this reason and if there is a second or third opening, take a chance on younger nominees and pray that they don't pull a Jeffords on us the way Kennedy and Souter did.
Then there's Another Reason Judge Kozinski Is My First Pick for Supreme Court: Oral Argument in Ruby Ridge Case
But he believes in smaller government, so I doubt that Bush will nominate him.
Nice kitty...
The answer to winning the Presidency is right in front of their noses. How funny that they can't see it. A Zell Miller democrat. Maybe there is only one.
I'd rather have thirty years of Miguel Estrada, and three more like him. As I said, I am second to none in my admiration for Robert Bork, I cannot see him as a SCOTUS nominee.
Heheheh. Well, next year should be interesting!
Well, well (and a very Merry Christmas to you).
