Gentle on Florida, pal. I live here in FLA now, and was born in Canada.
I split for the USA in 1960, and never regretted it! More opportunities, money, etc, and I never had to listen to a 'Progressive Conservative', aka 'Liberal', a 'Liberal', aka 'Socialist', or a 'NDP', aka 'Communist' again.
Because I used to have several relatives in Canada (all dead now), I was always kept abreast of Canadian shenanigans, and happy to be away from them.
I got all the skiing and hockey I wanted here until it just became too cold, made all my money, and moved to Paradise, along with tens-of-thousands of other Canucks.
I'm not a Canada-basher, but I'm just glad I dont live there.
On the Quebecois question, if Quebec ever actually decides to cecede from Canada, they will lose all of their territory South of the St. Lawrence, by force if necessary. The USA would not allow a chokepoint on the Seaway. The Frogs should have been shipped back to France after they lost the Battle of the Plains of Abraham.
Of course, the Acadians who wound up in Louisiana after our Revolutionaly War make damned good food. Stay well, bud..............FRegards

Can we take certain conservative parts of Newfoundland, too?
I have a lot of family there---and they love the US.

I'm glad you asked. The provinces I listed are just the ones I know have a strong conservative constituency. I've been wanting someone who knows more than I do to say something. I suspect if we could get all the conservative provinces, only Quebec and Ontario would be left.

Bush needs to remind them that we could take over their country in a three day weekend.

"Oh Lyndon B. Johnson? You mean, the president who started the Vietnam war? "Actually, that would be John Kennedy. But you got the democrat part right.

The future "Crawford" of Canada at least. Harper should buy a ranch in Longview.

Just too bad there is so much dead space separating the West from the True East.

Wow, this guy proves the adage that it is better to keep ones mouth shut and let people think you're stupid than to open it and confirm they're right.
