Like the Hippie who deludes himself that he is living “outside” of society. In fact he is a moocher living off the leavings of those who work. Without a fully functioning modern industrial society the hippie would starve in short order.
Pacifism only works when you know the other parties are absolutely not determined to either seize control of your lands, or just simply exterminate your people remorselessly. Since there are parties willing to do exactly that, there will need to be some people who fight and fight hard.
Other than that, pacifism in politics is mostly a claim to be made just for show, as was the case in Iraq. As for Libya, they never really cared about Iraq, they only cared about smearing the current administrations of both GW Bush and Tony Blair, and whatever other political leaders were taking part in the conflict.

Its well past the time for the USA to get out of NATO. The cold war ended 20 years ago.
We can have bilateral agreements with the UK and Germany if necessary. Otherwise, there is really no benefit, and great risk, to “guaranteeing” security for 35+ European nations. Does anyone really want to go to war for Spain?
What I do not understand is why would Europe destabilize Libya if it relies on them for oil?
Sounds to me like a deal was brokered somewhere.

Pacificism,is a form of activism and war to evil ends using apparently non violent or no evil means... in essence, like liberalism’s abortion, if it is dead and cannot sue you, t’s not murder nor violence. Pacifism is based in historical revisionism and historicism... It is used by communists to flank the West, but also by Nazis to promote a resurgence of Hitler and the destruction of Israel.
A fraud who steals through sneaks or force is still fraud hiding warmongering hearts and intentions, fully premeditative. They also promote self abuse, suicide and neglect.
The peace of mind is what they seek and not peace of entreprize and freedom.

There’s another reason. Sakorzy is in an election and Le Pen is running neck and neck. Le Pen has taken an anti-Muslim position in the election. Sakorzy has to prove he will bomb Muslims to beat Le Pen. France will get a lot more moderate after the election. I predict we end up holding the bag.
Unfortunately it looks like the socialists are going to win back power in France.
