I have to agree with you. Here in PA, we have a large Mennonite population. Conservative, hard-working, and very patriotic. My mennonite friends would be appalled with this behavior.
You got that right! :-)
“They talk approvingly about how there is lettuce, tomato, croutons, bacon bits, etc. all combined together to make a unique flavor of America. Or some such claptrap.”
Don’t forget the dingleberries.
Yes I think it’s the lines about “rocket’s red glare; bombs bursting in air” that give them pause.
“Diversity” means “F you.”
“Salad bowl” and we will all end up with e-coli.
Maybe the students’ parents ought to find an ‘alternative’ school.
“Cut off their federally funded student loans, their tax exempt status, and all other federal taxpayer subsidies.”
Should have done that years ago to all the colleges who refuse to allow military recruitment.
Spineless sniveling establishment Republicans have no cajones.
IIRC The Star-Spangled Banner was not adopted as our national anthem until the 1930s. I always thought it was a strange selection. More of an ode to a flag than a hymn of praise & thanksgiving for our country. Does anybody know about the selection process? Were any other compositions considered? America, The Beautiful or God Bless American say a lot more about our country.
From Thomas Paine's Common Sense, scroll down for the...
“... respects the views of diverse constituencies...”
Ah, diversity: Pollyannaism which works perfectly for parasites or in terms liberals will understand, the belief that one can actually pick up a turd by the clean end.
How about playing the “Bonnie Blue Flag” instead.../s
God Bless America has the glaring problem that the tune is “God Save the Queen”. That would be a rather idiotic choice.
The ‘money line’ of our anthem is the final question, one that every generation of Americans must answer in the affirmative...
“Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave,
O’er the land of the free, and the home of the brave?”

The Goshen College Board of Directors announced today that it has asked President James E. Brenneman to find an alternative ... that resonates with Goshen College’s core values and respects the views of diverse constituencies.
I know!
Be glorified, our fatherland, united and free!
The sure bulwark of the friendship of the peoples!
The Soviet banner is the flag of the people,
Let it lead from victory to victory!
“We’ll Stomp The Guts Out Of Anyone Who Disrespects America or the Star Spangled Banner”?
I vote for your song!! And, this can be played as they’re leaving America for the diversity of Iran, Afghanistan, Venezuela, etc.
“Sympathy for the Devil” would probably do well.
