Not true, communism did help to restrict emissions from those countries, by keeping their economies from reaching their full potential.

I wonder if all these anti-AGW and anti-capitalism types have all sworn off the fruits of capitalism (and carbon)? Did they all walk or ride horses to the meeting? Do they all live in hovels made strictly from locally available materials, also furnished with such, and eat a diet strictly of what is produced locally? If not (as I’d be willing to be), are they willing to go back to it?

The culprit is not in capitalism. It’s in artificial scarcity caused by anti-competition, business that’s hooked-up with all levels of government for regulating against new competition. Free and open source designs with much more distributed, less centralized, community based production is the answer. Plan, design and build equipment. Share the designs and other details with everyone.

"On the left, the Aral Sea in 1989. On the right, the Aral Sea in 2014."

And according to trade interests, communism ended there in 1989. Maybe an associated essence of communism didn't end after all (fascism enveloped within communism).

It has NEVER been about climate, it has always been about capitalism.
