I agree to some extent, but was it any more risky in the 1880s during western expansion? These pioneers had children, and they faced much more adversity that modern men and women.

Student debt ... that is the author’s position on the impact on the number of live births. There is student debt and then there is student debt for worthless (intellectually or marketability) but that is another topic.
You raise three other plausible contributors. Until I saw parts of the movie Eat, Love, Pray ... I wouldn’t appreciated that one as much. No fault divorce ... and birth control - sure those are factors too.

Well I would rather that we had less JD’s in the world, but thats another topic. The brown skinned folks like me do a lot of things that make your life cushy. My folks came through in the 60’s legally, my dad started and owned a successful masonry business and employed up to 45 employees before he sold the business. You need to stop seeing people by their exterior characteristics , its a liberal ploy to divide us. There is only one race, the human race. Good day.

I think you are unfair, to blame all baby boomers for the ills of society. Many of us opposed policies which resulted in shipping industries overseas, and doing nothing about illegal aliens all these years.

In regard to fertility, we brown skinned folks who are here legally are having large families. I’ve got six kids, three of them are getting married to white kids....soon ‘race’ will be a thing of the past.
