That Heisman trophy winner was mocked and ridiculed about social media posts from years ago, a major league ballplayer was shamed for saying something from high school, Brett Kavanaugh went through hell in his confirmation for “supposed’ acts long ago. Even Mitt Romney was accused of bullying during his high school years. So, yes our liberal communist friends want to ruin anyone in their path and they will make up whatever they have to to do it.

According to Google, the last Marine Corps unit in Vietnam was withdrawn in June 1971.
If he is 64, that means he was born in 1954 or 1955, and would have been 16 or 17 years old in June 1971.
Also, from memory, by the late 1960s, the U.S. military was giving future ground troops 12 months of training before they even shipped to Vietnam.
That would definitely be borderline. I will be 64 in March and the draft ended two months before I turned 18. I don't know how many who joined the Marines in the year prior to that went to Vietnam but I suspect it was a much reduced number than the years before.

I enlisted on my birthday in 1956 and needed parental approval as I was only 17.
It was a 4 yr enlistment-you could get out the day before your 21st birthday and it counted as 4 years though if you went in at 17-11mos, need signature but got out in 3 yrs 1 mo.
It was commonly called a ‘kiddie cruise’ and I am not sure how long the Navy had it in place.
From memory, many of the sailors had enlisted at 16, and the minimum enlistment was like 6 or 7 years.
