There are many avenues of civil dissent that do not involve violence although there will be violence no matter what.
Consider this, as dp says above, if the “silent majority” feels there is no civil recourse to not only a theft of an election, but the theft of our nation and constitution, what happens?
I don’t think any of us know for certain, but will there be those who react violently? Yes. The BLM/Antifa crowd, those actually committing acts of violence, are likely less than 1% of the far left. Sure, people are marching, but very few of them are doing violence (forget the looting - crime of opportunity and not politics). We have the same 1% on the far right and always have. Will they remain passive in the face of what they perceive (correctly) as an existential threat to the nation and themselves?
This is ugly. A special kind of ugly.
The vast majority of democrats and republicans are law-abiding and no, they will not harm others or destroy the property of others. However, the majority on the right WILL act to protect their person and property unlike the left. The anarchist on the left know this - they know they can keep pushing and pushing. Why not? They have done it with little consequence all year.
However, the extremes are where the action is and there are people on BOTH sides who will act out. They capture and dominate the news, much of the conversation, and they do things that force reaction by everyone else. We have seen that this year with riots in (ironically) democrat cities.
The left has torn the fabric of the country and I am not sure how it can be fixed. This has been a long time coming and here we are. The most amazing thing is that Biden is really an empty figurehead for them - the people behind him are the ones with the real power. Very few will fight for “Biden”, but they have shown us quite clearly they will fight for the ideas and people behind Biden.
ping to comment just above - forgot to add you as I mentioned you
I agree, there will be people who do that. But really, that could be called murder, and many of the conservatives are Christian, and they might want to fight the good fight, but killing someone requires a measure of action which the vast majority of Christians and Americans would not be able to do.
I understand Kipling’s “Wrath of the Awakened Saxon” so much better, because it will have to be intolerable before many people will be willing to go that far.
I agree with your points.
Here’s the biggie from the article:
“When public health experts insist that Trump rallies spread the coronavirus but Black Lives Matter riots don’t, then public trust and compliance collapse. The only lasting message of double standards is that there is no standard and that all that really matters is power.”
Greenfield always writes very well and is right at least 99 percent of the time, imho.
he’s nailed the big picture... Unless we can get this fake vote trued, our representative republic is at an end, quite like the fall of the Roman republic and replacement with dictators
What an absurd title!
The only flaw in your logic is to think our military would behave better here than abroad
I remind you of Bill Sherman
In a civil conflict best behavior is rarely on display by govt forces
Much less irregulars
I think the rules of engagement would be “do whatever it takes” if the army took a side in a coup.
The UN and Europe and a lot of other countries want us slaughtered.
There would be no outcry.
But I could be completely wrong :)
Not to mention a lot of the military leans right and would be hesitant to kill us.
And WTH are we still doing in Afghanistan.
It’s HORRIBLE enough when our men get hurt or killed, when it for no clear reason, it’s even more devastating.
The Russians just did it...35 years is a blink in history...and like you said, they probably used more brutal tactics.
Oh well.
Time for pizza
Have a good one man
Bkmk
Nice catch. Strange times....
Soap Box

I think there is a silent majority on both sides. The radicals act out and their power and influence are magnified by the media, big tech, and pretty soon everybody thinks they are a majority.
A committed fringe of any movement can cause massive change and upheaval. Just ask the founding fathers..... :)
I reiterate - if this stands, the House is next, then 1/3 of the Senate the time after. Local and state offices too.
In 6-10 years it will be over (some will say it already is).
Honestly, I hadn't noticed
“””””Poor Moron, Joe Biden, has nary a clue and waits every day since election day for his orders from master puppeteer Barack Hussein Obama, who by the way, is calling all the shots & pulling all the strings for sad sack, loser, the hapless moron...named Biden, who is corrupt, brainless and criminal, combined!!!”””””
Where is Soros or his ilk in this???
There will be irregulars on both sides, more on ours.
The Democrats might be upset, but it won’t be because they think the voting was irregular.
They will be upset because the Democrat politicians might not get to steal for them.
Agree. They took out John James in MI. They ballot harvested in CA. In 2016 and 2018. They will have Wray and Hespel at FBI and CIA. Also, the Dems will never stop!
Well, even if Trump wins, there will be a lot of Democrats thinking he is the illegitimate president. Either way, half of the population will think the vote was illegitimate!
That’s actually the main point of this article.
