The Journey
From the time before we were conceived
To live upon the earth
Our souls own journey was by God set
On a mission of great worth
For all our lives are intertwined
By destiny and not fate
But often this is not made clear
Until it seems too late
But subtle is the way of thought
Of messages received
The issues of our daily life
Our conscious mind deceive
We know not where our path is set
No signs to show the way
If we look beyond what we first see
Our purpose has it’s say
We cleave to us the ones most dear
Our memories safely stored
The influence of them on our lives
To our music scored
The revelation of their death
To the present brings them back
We see the way they touched our lives
And changed the final track
In our minds an epiphany
A realization grows
Of how something that seemed so small
It’s impact now exposed
Each one is like a puzzle piece
Of a picture which unfolds
Their purpose gives us sweet relief
More precious to us than gold
So many dear have gone before
Into the great beyond
And even as the time goes by
We still maintain our bond
