The Septuagint was the Scripture in use at the time of Christ, and it included 2 Maccabees.
Maccabees was in all Bibles until 1621.
Using the excuse that it isn’t in the Hebrew canon is nonsense because the Hebrew canon wasn’t established until 130 A.D.
How much of the Hebrew canon written after the Resurrection are you still wed to?

One thought is that Sishak only got the items that Solomon had made, not items from the time of Moses.
2 Chronicles 35 mentions the Ark in the time of Josiah, after the prophetess Huldah had told of coming destruction. So when it says the Ark was put in the Temple, Josiah might have been instructing the Levites to hide it there.

I watched a show about the military engineering the Knights Templar did in their various forts. This one was included. The stronghold is located in the best defensive position in the narrow valley, the access points to the valley are narrow, and defenders can tell from quite a distance how many and from which direction the enemy is coming.

All of that power has relocated to a vortex near Sedona, in Oak Creek Canyon. Everybody who is anybody knows that.

I do wonder if the True Ark will be found within the next few years. It wouldn't surprise me if it turns up on "Pawn Stars":
RICK HARRISON: "What have you got there?
CUSTOMER: "The Ark of the Covenant"
RICK: "Where'd you get it?"
CUSTOMER: "I picked it up at a yard sale a couple of years ago. My wife's been bugging me to get it out of the garage."

Hebrews 9:11-12
11 But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation;
12 and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
Revelation 11
15 Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying,
“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever.”
19 And the temple of God which is in heaven was opened; and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple, and there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder and an earthquake and a great hailstorm.
Seems that He has no plans on using the copy, when the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple.

Never said it was inspired, I just said it commented about what happened to the Ark. Even an uninspired book written in the relevant time frame might have relevant information, which is probably why Jesus Christ himself quoted several “uninspired” books.
To: SVTCobra03
I'll give you three reasons why it is and should be accepted:
- It was in the Septuagint, which was the Greek OT from before the time of Christ until recently, and is quoted in the NT.
- The first people to reject it were the rabbis at Jamnia. The criteria they set out for OT canonicity reject, and were almost certainly intended to reject, the New Testament. So get rid of your New Testament while you're at it.
- The same councils which finalized the NT canon in the West in the early 5th century included the OT deuterocanon.
- This was > 1000 years before Luther. Another church council 50 years before Luther's birth taught exactly the same canon. The idea that the OT deuterocanon was not canonical until the Council of Trent is just plain false.
- Rejecting the OT deuterocanon because you don't like what it teaches, as Luther tried to do, is sola scriptura turned on its head. If the Bible is the sole source of doctrine, you can't go editing the Bible to get a different doctrine.
- The original King James Version included the OT deuterocanon. It wasn't removed until the 19th century.
Wait, that's six reasons. I gave you three for free!

This is also true. I always think it's odd that people equate "not inspired" with "completely false". Caesar's Gallic Wars aren't inspired either, but they're mostly historically accurate.
