I am not familiar with Custer State Park. I wonder in the end what would actually happen if she just went ahead and did it In Mount Rushmore?

The news is misleading. I live in SD. There will indeed be a 4th of July celebration at mount Rushmore like there is every year. Up until last year there hadn’t been fireworks since 2009. There is a patriotic light show. Actually this show is put on every night.
Conditions in SD are very dry and we’ve already had wildfires in the Hills this year that have burned homes. The celebration is on as it is every year just without live pyrotechnics.
It’s going to take more than this for Noem to get her luster back.
That is federal property and not state property. She has no say so and no authority as to what happens at Rushmore. That’s why she’s suing. That’s why an earlier post suggested a massive fireworks at Custer State Park.
Just hold the celebration. Tell the Biden administration to go to hell. Tell them they are rioting.

Can you explain why she is correct? I understand the negative financial impact it could/would have on the state, but other than that, why is she correct? Sometimes a profile in courage does the correct thing regardless of the cost. It’s called leadership. It’s particularly interesting since DeSantis signed the same bill Noem vetoed. I’m open to your thoughts on the matter.
