Had to withdraw his nomination in 2009 for Sec. of Commerce due to a federal investigation of a Pay-for-Play scheme with his PAC, and awarding contracts and projects to political donors. In 2019, he was named in the lawsuit of Virginia Roberts Giuffre.

Richardson brough casino gambling to the Navajo nation and its been all downhill since.
He kept a position open at the UN mission in NY, hoping to get her to accept it and move there post haste, so she would be outside the 100 mile subpoena reach of the grand jury sitting in DC. He went to Lewinsky’s mother’s residence in the Watergate complex to interview her. She as offered the job, but was not willing to accept it at a paltry 90k/year (1997 $’s.) The UN Ambassador? Yeah, he always goes to the homes of job candidate to interview them in person.
