She has had a good life up to that point. She married a fellow who had graduated in biology at UF but was working in a Lum’s pancake house. I informed her that his old supervisor in the biology lab wished he would come back. Upshot he was a professor when he died of cancer 6 years ago. She was just getting over that when the WuFlu shutdowns began and, having been 35 years connected with UF she has all the attitudes and beliefs that are required to survive in the University atmosphere and she folded up and disappeared into her house. She has two genius sons, one of whom was hired by NASA in his senior year in High School and sent to MIT. She worked for the head of the Biology department and put his now text book at many schools together. She herself did not finish high school but she is very bright blighted by liberalism.

Re: “temporary” and “experts”

A colleague had a very honest discussion with me about the mental downside to following the rules.

She, her husband and kids got the shot. Her kids were scared of the needle (who isn’t?). She told them “if you get the shot, for you, things will go back to normal. You won’t have to wear a mask.” Because that was the prevailing guidance in May 2021.

However, when the Omicron variant raged through America in the fall/winter of 2021, schools went back to full masking EVEN IF you’d been jabbed. My colleague expressed how she felt like a terrible parent - like she lied to her kids. If memory serve me correct, one of her kids said “but Mom…you PROMISED it’d go back to normal if I took the shot.”

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: I will never badmouth anyone who took the shot or masked up. There was a lot of uncertainty (and disinformation posing as expertise). They weren’t sheep, and indeed JimRob took the shot. Anyone can be fooled once.

But in 2023, anything that’s called “temporary” sure as shinola seems permanent. And I suspect there are millions of people with Buyers Remorse when it comes to following “experts.” Finally, kids aren’t stupid-they’ll remember the Great Lie from 2021.

The silver lining in this whole mess, is a meaningfully large number of people are now Authority-Skeptical. The whole medical-MSM-industrial complex literally gambled with their public image - and lost. What a shame /s.

Well, I don’t consider myself a hypo or anything but imo this Covid wave, mild as it is, is real. I caught it 4 Sept on a trip up north, going thru JFK. Figures. Same stuff, fatigue, muscle aches, nausea, night fever, etc. Only lost a few days work tho. Not like first go around: 11 days in hospital and quad bypass.

Don’t really care one way or other about masks, sheltering, etc. Kinda all futile imo. I believe in Liberty tho so to each their own. I don’t think it’ll make me sick or protect me from getting sick anyway.

But the ‘mask thing’. I believe it is meant to reduce exhaled water vapor -which contains virus in the droplets. Even in a petri dish a virus is in a liquid solution.

I’m an old diabetic who could lose his beer belly. I took the Pfizer 2X shot in March of 21.

I won’t take another, but even back then I never felt the need to force anyone to take it. My son who is 23 and lives with me, didn’t get it, and I’m glad.

Despite this, we both got Covid 2x.

Also, this has been the result of masking--pollution!

Masks--the new cigarette butts of the outdoors!

I have had WuFlu back in early March 2020. Because I have been totally avoiding flu and colds for 18 years with daily D3 supplements I was a bit shockeḍ (didn’t know about WuFlu yet) but took the D3 dose specified for beginning it while already sick (900 units per pound of body weight) in the morning and by evening I was over it altogether. Wife got it two days later and did the same before bed and woke up fine. D3 is sunshine in a gelcap. Flu and colds tend to be winter things because one doesn’t get much sun in cold weather.

All very good points. The “experts” said get the jab and no more masks in May 2021 in most states. In CT, as a example, they dropped the Mask mandate and any capacity restrictions in mid-May 2021 if jabbed, mask required if not, which ended it as most everyone, businesses, attractions, etc. moved on and no one cared outside government if you were jabbed. Theme parks fully reopened with a little sign, if you are not jabbed, masks are required, etc. and left ti at that.

Then the scary Omicron wave came and the Gov. refused to do a state wide mandate, but passed another EO letting Mayors implement a city/town mandates they se fit. Some did noting (best), other only at city hall, etc. (meh) and a few Hartford, New Haven, etc. had town wide mandates for all public spaces. A tow near me had 3 mask mandates, 1 was the state the other 2 were from the mayor. By the 3rd one it was barely enforced and the First Selectmen was begging people to call the local PD if some dared disobey his order to mask up while waling in the restaurant then tale it off once seated.

Of course they kids had to suffer all the way to Feb 2022 with masks in schools for their “safety”, er, because they fully jabbed teachers were scared.

About 17 million kids who were 14-17 in 2020 will be ready to vote in 2024.

Sure, many of them will vote statist, erm Dem.

But a bigly number of them who may have batted for the other team, will remember the mask and shot mandates enacted by schools.

Remember, Bidet won Georgia, Wisconsin, and Arizona by an aggregate margin of 42,948 counted votes. All Trump needed was 21,461 of those votes to flip his way to win. Prescinding from fraud.

These kidz may be peeved enough to go vote. We don’t need a zillion of them to be red pilled.
