I couldn’t give less of a damn about the global economy. I only care about America’s economy. Bringing manufacturing back home would dramatically strengthen America and would provide good jobs to millions of Americans.

Yes, when other countries are sending you money, you make policies to benefit THEM! It's really that simple. While I’m a capitalist - at some point there must be a safety valve to make sure the average worker can earn a living if they’re willing to work. Having policies that enable global labor to out-compete domestic labor doesn’t bring prosperity to the average worker.
Wake up call....we’re not only talking about blue collar jobs either. We are talking about remote engineering, remote medical, remote legal, etc.. - all of it...and you’ll be competing against AI too, not even people. Those only interested in their stock portfolio value will sh*t on the entire workforce.
The government’s job is not to worry about the global economy, it’s to worry about the US economy.
