Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU
for your service!
Hi Kathy, thanks for remembering and honoring our Troops tonight!
Howdy, Kathy.
Hump Day! Have you been able to get everything squared away?
Another pretty day up there after another really foggy night. I checked before going to bed this morning and it was colder here than it was up there! That just ain’t right! LOL!!

Bible in a Year :
I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
On Charley and Jan’s fiftieth wedding anniversary, they shared breakfast at a café with their son Jon. That day, the restaurant was understaffed with just a manager, cook, and one teenage girl who was working as hostess, waitress, and busser. As they finished their breakfast, Charley turned to his wife and son and said, “Do you have anything important going on in the next few hours?” They didn’t.
So, with permission from the manager, Charley and Jan began washing dishes in the back of the restaurant while Jon started clearing the cluttered tables. According to Jon, what happened that day wasn’t really that unusual. His parents had always set an example of Jesus who “did not come to be served, but to serve” (Mark 10:45).
In John 13, we read about the last meal Christ shared with His disciples. That night, the Teacher taught them the principle of humble service by washing their dirty feet (vv. 14–15). If He was willing to do the lowly job of washing a dozen men’s feet, they too should joyfully serve others.
Every avenue of service we encounter may look different, but one thing’s the same: there’s great joy in serving. The purpose behind acts of service isn’t to bring praise to the ones performing them, but to lovingly serve others while directing all praise to our humble, self-sacrificing God. .
Reflect & Pray
When has someone unexpectedly offered to help you with a difficult task? Why is humility such an important aspect of serving others?
Loving Savior, thank You for showing me how to be a servant.
Howdy, PRO.
You about ready to stop shunting your cold weather down here yet? We’re a bit tired of it. LOL
I hope your week’s going well so far.
Evening, Kathy. Woohoo — I’m top 10!
Thankfully we're going to get back to normal 20's-30's temps in a few days so hopefully you'll warm up too!
We've had a bit of snowfall too but nothing major.
You keeping those kittehs warm?
Good evening, radu...hope you are not completely snowed in.
Be safe and stay warm!
Howdy, luvie.
All set to head out tomorrow?
Getting there. A bit antsy and keyed up as always before a trip. Especially a long one.
LOL! Yeah, we don’t take much of a fancy to this kind of cold down here. And we really don’t like it when it hangs around for a week.
At least when it finally does warm up next week, it’ll be above normal temps. No complaints with that! :-)
Doing my best to keep the kitties warm but a few have made it hard for the rest of us. Vent hogs! They want to lie on the vents and the house gets chilly. I finally laid out an electric blanket and turned it on. That’s helped a lot! All but one vent hog sleep on it but I still have to run Lorien off a vent whenever I get up. She won’t sleep with the others on the blanket. Lil stinker! LOL
We’re fine. I’m just bored to death and disappointed the Republican women’s meeting tomorrow is cancelled and the two tour groups for the museum Saturday cancelled. I was looking forward to it all.
Hey there, Kathy.
Yeah, still stuck at home for now. The snow has turned real crunchy and becomes ice underfoot. It’ll do the same under car tires so I’m just staying put.
Long trips aren’t a lot of fun, no doubt. It was an 8-hour drive to FL to visit Dad when he was alive and I always dreaded the trip.
At least you won’t have crummy weather to drive through.
Good evening, Pro...remembering is our “job”. We must never forget.
Hope you are snug and warm. How is your SUV doing? Feeling better?
I get my car back on Friday, it'll cost me a few bucks but it's better than buying a new or even a used car. It's my baby, I've been driving it for about 10 years and have no problem putting more $$$ into it to keep it purring.
Lots of things undone, but as it is NOT a pay week, that is what Thursday and Friday are for...corrections.
-5 on the porch about 8a, but a pretty, sunny afternoon.
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
Hope your weather is improving some.
Stay in and stay warm!!
