Me too. I remember walking into class at Cal Poly SLO that day. The TV was on showing the coverage over and over of the explosion, everyone stunned.
Being an astronaut was and is an extremely hazardous job. There have been 30 fatalities over the years, plus a number of injuries. All to people I respect.
I recognize that. And I still wish I could go to space.
And I wouldn’t mind if people made jokes about me, if things went sideways.
because NASA Mangemrnt refused to listen to the ATK solid booster people about the O-Rings, it was WAY to cold to launch that day..
i want to be an astronaut too
but the MK 1 brain was just no up to the task..
but in about 3 minutes i am going to go out to patio and watch a nice spacex starlink launch from Vandy
