If I’m ever in that situation, I’m going to assume a prone position with my arms stretched upward and I’m just going to stay in that position, no matter the orders given.

I have been in that situation several times. Immediately plant your face in the dirt on your belly with your hands on top of your head and your fingers interlaced no matter what they tell you. And even then they will land on you with a knee and try to break your back while yelling “stop resisting”.
