MY property taxes pay for roads-—County deputies-—County fire department-—County ambulance—Schools (I NEVER HAD ANY KIDS) and other services.
I live in N Nevada. There are a few counties in Nevada that allow brothels-—THEY are very well run & after being here 19 years-—I have never heard of any problems at any brothel.
A few years back, a lawyer who moved to RENO-—(ANOTHER COUNTY THAT DOESN’T HAVE BROTHELS—BUT DOES HAVE PROSTITUTES)
Tried to get a ballot item passed that would forbid brothels-—that were NOT in his county-—banned.
OUR county manager appeared on every talk show he could with this INFo:
THE BROTHELS PAY LOTS OF TAXES-—CURRENTLY (THEN) THE TAXES FROM THE BROTHELS EQUAL 57% OF THE COUNTY BUDGET.
IF YOU VOTE TO BAN THEM—YOUR TAXES WILL MORE THAN DOUBLE—
IT was easily voted down.
MY current taxes on 5+++ acres/house/well/septic/garage/etc are UNDER $1000. A majority of the residents in this county are retired on FIXED incomes.
IF you are thinking of selling:
IF YOU HAVE BEEN IN YOUR HOME FOR MORE THAN 2 YEARS-——
IF YOU ARE MARRIED (2 people)-——
The current EXEMPTION on such a sale for Capital Gains is $500,000.
$250,000 for single persons.
So-—IF you wish to sell—and are married-—you have a UNTAXED nest egg of $500,000 for a new property.
IF your Capital Gain is $505,000-—YOU ONLY OWE TAX ON $5,000
Thumbs up!
I think this is a great idea. I’m a “bad” libertarian!
A willing buyer is any entity willing to pay for an asset. There is nothing special about a family home as an asset.
The government choosing winners and losers leads to a multitude of evils and ultimately collapse of the government.
corporations are limited people.
That has always been the case.
But donating to campaigns should be limited to those who can vote for them.
You will own nothing and be happy.
