Apparently you don’t understand Google’s origins, the intentions of its backers and beneficiaries, or the network effect in online monopolies.

It makes me laugh when you guys freak out over private company’s doing stuff on their own. Why doesn’t Truth Social do something to compete against them?

You have no clue as to what kind of a “private” company Google is. Truth Social isn’t even in the same (monopoly) market as Google’s flagship product.

So, Google conspires with government officials to withold information from private citizens, without ever telling them what they are doing.

That is far from acting as a private company. In effect, they have formed a cabal with government officials to fraudulently steal elections.

“Google is a private company. They are under no obligation to make their service ‘fair.’”

I get so tired of correcting this error which is endlessly repeated on this forum.

Companies like Google are publicly traded. The PUBLIC owns them. So, yes, they MUST be fair because they are highly regulated. The leaders are using other people’s money to do these things.

Might even be money from your 401k, which would mean YOU are an owner.

Do you think using corporate funds and resources to do politicking is a good fiduciary practice?

I NEVER use Google.

I am not so stupid as to think that Google is not INPUTTING information into my preferred Search Engine, BUT it is never Google to which I go.

Soooo, The Big “G” affects me, but in a lesser way. And that makes me feel good.

https://search.brave.com/

I don’t use the Brave browser, but Brave has a stand alone browser that seems not to be just a slave to Google, at least so far.

It will get swallowed up, I’m sure, but it’s a great alternative right now.

Brave Search:

"Brave Search doesn’t track you, your searches, or your clicks. It’s impossible for us to share, sell, or lose your data, because we don’t collect it in the first place."

"Even supposedly “neutral” or “private” search engines rely on big tech for results. Brave is different. We deliver results based on our own built-from-scratch index. We’re beholden to no one."

"Brave Search doesn’t use secret methods or algorithms to bias or censor results. We rely on anonymous community contributions to refine results, and community-created alternative ranking models to ensure diversity."

Thank you so much. I shall give it a try.

I do not like or trust the GOOG.
And I wish they didn’t have so many people who use it.

Regards.

Yes I know, but Google searches get deeper. Duckduckgo isn’t bad, but accesses Google sites.
