Al Gore put the country through four weeks of hell. He lost and he knew he had lost but he still put the country through all those futile legal machinations. To hell with him and the Dem Party.

IIRC, Some Miami newspaper brought the rights to recount all the ballots. He lost every recount scenario with the exception of a recount that counted every hanging chad ballot as a vote for Al Gore. (Dem Cheaters had a problem pushing the stylus getting through a stack of multiple ballots.)
Gore got his day in court that he didn’t deserve. N Sanders Saul ruled against him—-he was a venerable Democrat judge, who was bashed as “the judge from Margaritaville” after he ruled against Gore’s accusation of “fraud” for which there was no evidence. Democrats lied about the law to claim Secretary of State Harris “abused her discretion”, even though Florida law not only granted Katherine Harris legal authority to ignore late votes, it also explicitly told the courts to stay OUT of it & treat her decisions as “presumptively correct”/beyond legal challenge. Bush won the first machine vote & first machine recount, and first hand recount……then the Florida judges who voted in the election and some of them gave money to Gore’s campaign and could be promoted by Gore to a higher court if they helped him win—-all conflicts of interest, making them players in the game who scored runs for Gore and who therefore could not be objective, dispassionate umpires……who nevertheless granted themselves power to rewrite the rulebook after the game was over and their team lost—-changing the very definition of what it meant to score a run.
The Supreme Court saved democracy, but Democrats have sought revenge ever since. That is why they impeached Trump TWICE—-once was for Gore losing & once was for Hillary losing.
George W Bush had a great plan to counter carbon emissions and climate change: Clean coal, natural gas and lots of nukes…..and to install the “Healthy Forests Initiative” to restore national forests in places such as Arizona to health, so they don’t burn down and pour tons of carbon and other pollution into the air and water. Democrats lied about it and the media censored the truth….. so it never happened. forests are full of death brush, dead and diseased and infected infested, drought ravaged trees. Democrats claimed without evidence that GOP just wanted to clear cut the forests. They are craven liars who have destroyed all civil discourse in this country.
The best thing about Dubya is that he was great on energy. To me, that’s enough to vote for him over Gore and Kerry. Even if Dubya was terrible on everything else.

They shouldn't have stepped in at all, it rested entirely on the state of Florida. Same issues occurred in 2020, the SC said nah, courts can set the voting laws of each state, instead of the actual legislature of that state.
