Hey, I’m all for DEI and such, but hiring the developmentally disabled to manage aircraft maintenance is taking things a bit too far.
I've seen stories about the first all-female airline crew.

The other day, flew Untied from DIA to XXX airport.
CPT = large black guy, jovial ghetto talker
FO = Mexican guy with thick accent, announced temperature in Celsius, conveniently translating to Fahrenheit for the gringos on board
Takeoff: long, very long, slow rotation and shallow climb. Good practice at DIA, even on a low density altitude day.
Cruise: uneventful, except for semi-hilarious announcements from aforementioned South of the Border First Officer.
Approach and Landing: basically unstabilized frequented by throttle jockeying, meaning PF was chasing the airspeed or glideslope or both. Appeared to cross threshold hot, and flared about 30 feet too high. Chopped throttles and fell out of the sky with attendant WHAM! on to the runway, followed by heavy braking and full reverse for many seconds.
We all walked away. Capt. Mugabe stood in the doorway and made sure everyone knew he was the Big Bwana in charge of the aeroplane on the way out.

Yes, also a United plane. Video of it happening, the tire fell and crashed onto cars in an employee parking lot, luckily no one injured on the ground. What is going on with United maintenance crews? I can imagine a wheel coming off a car due to a bad mechanic, but you expect better maintenance when large aircraft are worked on.
Glad to have retired from DAL long before all of this started.
What was once an airline at the top in the industry is one that I would never fly today .. even if I were back on the flight deck.😭

Where the hell is “Pistol” Pete Buttigieg at on all this? You know our United States Secretary of Transportation. Enquiring minds might want to know; things like trains derailing and doors and tires on airplanes falling off. There seems to be some sort of systemic problem with our transportation model in America. Pete, there sure seems to be a lot of that kind of stuff going on lately.
