I’d close down all academies. Replace with a one year 90 day wonder program.
While the article refers to the deletion as "planned", it points out the Superintendent has announced by letter the deletion has been accomplished.
The Superintendent may be a patriotic individual, but as the article suggests, all it takes is a phone call from someone in the CiC's office, perhaps someone bent on "remaking" America:
West Point is not the custodian of the Army Values. They can be changed by political appointees.
Then take it up with the Military Academy, who posted it to the USMA website on March 11, 2024:

commie cadet hat: communism will win
where is commie cadet today?
Because they disagree with it. They do not believe in duty, they admit sodomites and communists, and the are ardent advocates of globalism.
I think the motive is to get rid of “Country”, because the Left detests patriotic allegiance to the American national identity. Destroying faith in our Country, its history, its heroes, and national myths is part of the Left’s agenda for global government. Manipulating language and slogans is a favored post-modernist tool.
Unfortunately, soldiers need to feel that they are fighting for hearth and home (their country) and each other, not some abstract notion. “Let’s die for the Fourth Internationale” is weak sauce.
Ironically, the headline has already substituted “Courage”, for “Country”. I assume this was just a typo.
It was way too white. Eveyrone knows this.
To be replaced with, “Can’t touch this”
I am taking it up with you because you are the one who posted it on March 22.
You knew from reading the article that sometime prior to March 22 the Super announced the term had been deleted...and thus the description in your post "to the present" without further comment was obsolete.
After looking at the rest of your posts it appears you are indeed on the better side of the argument, but it does demonstrate how easy it is when using the words of a third party for one to be misconstrued.
Cheers.
This entire thread is about the mission statement being changed, so it was no secret that the mission statement was changed.
The post from USMA gave the history of the mission statement up to that day's change to it. A second press release on the very same day published the Commandant's letter explaining the change to the mission statement, and provided the mission statement itself, which was also in the original article of this thread.
There was some question as to when the words "Duty, Honor, Country" were first added to the mission statement, and this timeline clearly shows that, as well as every mission statement ever made by the USMA from 1925 up to the most recent change.
I apologize if it was unclear that the mission statement no longer contains the words "Duty, Honor, Country" from my post 15.
They did it to undermine the USA. They use the ugly racist DEI to move this narrative forward.
IMHO, everyone who does this should face indictments for treason in the most literal sense, then the ultimate penalty.
