I’ll tell ya where you really don’t want to be this time of year. The NC coast. I lived in Wilmington for a year and thought I was gonna die that spring. I thought I had the flu, and a lot of others did too. People who’d moved there from elsewhere weren’t used to the pollen from the local plantlife and had severe reactions to something there. One of the local news channels even did a piece on it once, calling it something like the “transplant flu”. LOL It lasted a couple of weeks before finally backing off.
After that, what I deal with here ain’t nuttin’!! LOL
Yuck! 90s this weekend? Not good! We’re looking at upper 70s, maybe 80 here from tomorrow, on.
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
Have a wonderful and restful weekend.
Was the eclipse fun? We got nothing here (they said a partial)....and we even had a clear sky.
All aboard!!! Fun song. Thanks, Fiji.
Be sure to support these artists by buying their music and attending their concerts when they come to your area.
Yesterday at Comanche Lake:
How's everyone doing this morning?
Good evening, radu...how are you doing for sun at your house? LOL!
We had a little mid-day today, then heavy snow, with huge flakes, for about and hour. Then a bit of rain, and then a bit more sun that dried everything up.
I’m ready for more sun to melt more snow.
EEUUWW! Thanks for the warning. Allergies really can make you feel like you have a cold or flu if you didn’t know better. Very discomforting.
I don’t think there’s a chance of me being anywhere near NC...much less the coast. Wilmington is where Mark Sudduthd & his family live when he’s not chasing hurricanes or other weather stuff.
I’m dreading those 90s coming along. The good news is that it’ll drop back down to 82 on Tuesday. And I hope it stays in the 80s for a while longer. Like till August. LOL! Of course, THAT won’t happen. Your 70s and 80s sound great. It’s what we’ve been having.
Happy Birthday!! Hope you and Gizmo have a great time celebrating it!
It looks like you and Gizmo had a good time at Comanche Lake yesterday, and fine weather for it.
Howdy, Kathy.
It started out pretty cloudy today but we ended up with some wonderful blue sky and sunshine by late afternoon. WAY too windy, though. Judging by what I saw on the Lake Hood cam, we had about the same wild winds today. I didn’t get snow with it like you did, thank goodness. LOL
You’ve had snow on the ground for months now and I’d say you’re beyond tired of it by now. It’s time for greenery with flowers making splashes of color up there.
They can make you feel terrible if they’re really bad. Here, I don’t have that problem at all. Just sinuses making me go through box after box of Kleenex. LOL
Other than those couple of rough weeks, I loved living in Wilmington. It’s a nice city, or at least it was at the time. Mark chose a good place to live.
I feel for ya having to deal with 90s at all this soon. At least it’s just a couple of days. Here’s hoping you can hang onto those 80s for a while.
PS. The 250th United States Semiquincentennial, is in 2026.
I hope the 80s hang around. For the last few years, May has been as hot as July. It’s just not right. LOL! Or maybe I notice it more because I’m not working in an air conditioned environment. Yeah, we have AC here, but we don’t keep it as cold as they did at my job.
I think it would be cool living near the outer banks and the sea. I’m not keen on the beach so much as the sound of the sea when the waves roll in. But yikes! They do have hurricanes there. I know how much you love to see wild and woolly weather, but it would scare me. A lot.
The House of the Rising Sun...way cool version, that others obviously “copied”. Thanks!
Thanks, FamiliarFace...((HUGS))
It HAS been mighty hot there the past couple of years. You could always go back to work so you’d be in a cold environment a lot of the time. LOL
I don’t keep my house cold either. As long as I’m sitting, it’s comfy enough but I get a bit warm when doing housework. I don’t like feeling like I’m in a meat locker.
The Outer Banks are wonderful. I went several times while I lived in Raleigh, usually staying at Nags Head. From there, I’d drive north or south to check out different areas. I always went to Kitty Hawk and the Wright Brothers monument and always went to the Hatteras Lighthouse. Love that lighthouse, and there are other ones along the islands as well.
I don’t care a thing about swimming in the ocean but loved to sit on the beach to enjoy watching and listening to the surf. Sooooooo relaxing. I’d love to go back again but I don’t see that happening any time soon. :-(
We NEED sun!! LOL!! Glad your wind died down.
The wind seems to have calmed down and I have lots of tree trash now. I cleared all of it off the deck, but the yard will have to wait til the snow is gone.
Requires resting time.
