Another story that will be buried.
Like mushrooms after a spring rain, multiple twelve apartments per building are popping up in southwest oregon.
Interest rates are costing about 10% to build a house. On a $500,000 house that is $50,000 for financing the construction. And in a market where the houses are already to expensive that’s a cost that the builder will probably eat. So building.
Government politicians increase fees, rules and regulations to kill the middle class building their own homes... then waive their fees, rules ( height, density ), etc. for their pet construction projects .
We are going from a country of middle class citizens who own their homes, ranches and farms who take care of their families to renters who are parked in projects / 15 minute cities.
