The position of every republican governor and president should be to veto any bill congress produces.
Regardless of position, it’s obviously an issue that it probably not well served by legislation that gets 50% + 1 of the vote.
With a veto-proof majority, you at least get something more folks had to agree to.

The traditional “scary” features that make ARs so deadly and unpredictable are the pistol grip, flash hider, and adjustable stock. They usually get their panties wrapped around the axle about magazine capacities. Somehow 10 round magazines are all unicorns and rainbows, but 30 round magazines are evil incarnate.
The standard Mini-14 magazine is a flush fitting 5 rounder, so it’s got extra unicorns.
