One answer is to eviscerate their budgets, repeal their enabling legislation, and encourage aggressive lawfare against the regime in retribution for these agencies’ many crimes.

Unfortunately their budgets are insignificant pocket change they could still survive without. They are not actually on our payroll. But it would expose this fact and questions would have to be answered about how they could still operate without a budget and where it is coming from.
The government doesn’t care about our safety and security. If they cared even little they wouldn’t leave our border wide open for people who want to do us harm. The only things they care about are money and power. The democrats are corrupt to their core and so are most republicans. The American people need to wake up and stop allowing the government to turn them against one another. They keep us fighting against each other so we don’t focus on them. Too many Americans fall into this trap.

The intelligence agencies are dangerous because they are populated by hedonistic, stupid people. That makes the threat not just existential but also self-inflicted. The situation cannot be fixed unless daddy principles are applied to spank the little twirps.

I would have bought this argument pre-Trump. After watching these “good people in the FBI/CIA” at the lower levels take their orders violating the rights of Trump and most Americans, snap their heels together and say yes sir, knowing their actions were illegal as hell you can’t convince me there are ten people in either agency who have a clue what integrity, the rule of law and the Bill of Rights means. Their silence is a damning indictment of these agencies employees lack of character and ethics! I was just following orders didn’t work at Nuremburg, why should it work now?
