Excellent point, I was going to mention the same ideas.

Look at the bell curve for intelligence between men and women, and you will see how that fundamental disparity is exacerbated by current policy. While the average girl is smarter than the average boy, there are more smartest guys than smartest girls (and the same for the dumbest). This explains in a nutshell, why boys still dominate the top of each profession (notice all the best chefs are men?) but also why most criminals are guys.

The segment that really gets screwed in all of this, though, are the boys at the lower end of the bell curve. How come no one talks about the "crisis" on them? It really is so sad.

"Bingo...........You win the jackpot. I have have 2 girls and 2 boys. We have noticed this trend for a long time. The schools only seem interested in training little obedient secretaries. "

what a put down.....maybe you should tell your dtrs that...

those "little obedient secretaries" are turning out to be some of the best, most knowledgeable doctors and lawyers around.....

the funny part of this story is that somehow it was okay for girls to be the second sex, but no, oh no, not the boys...never the boys...

I will believe that women somehow are better off than men the day I read that China and India are killing off little boy babies or selling them off as quick as they can....or having acid thrown in their faces or perhaps being killed by a father or brother because he was raped by someone....THEN, I will believe that men have it as bad in this world...

until then, this whining is ridiculous....

the best jobs are still male-dominated and will remain so....those jobs that pay well, have benefits and good retirements..I am talking police , fireman, military, flying planes, even sports athletes...otoh...women who dominate a work class just do not get what men get...no matter what their education....

Hey, it's not a problem. A boy just needs to go out and find a good girl to take care of him. It's our time in the wagon.

You've really hit the nail on the head as far as the reasons why mothers of young daughters should be as concerned (if not more) about this present situation regarding the emasculation of our young boys and men. Luckily, for many years I've coached young men and saw this nonsense festering and growing year after year and I tried to make a concerted effort to frequently discuss responsiblity, effort, never quitting, etc. and the results have been very good. As I said, mothers of daughters must get involved because they will get and audience and it's imperative that the upcoming generation of young men receive grassroots support from the community....whether it's through church, school, youth sports, YMCA, etc.

It is not about one sex being better than another, they are different.

It is about one sex being systematically abused.

That is wrong no matter where or to which sex.

The fact that women may be getting shorted elsewhere make no excuse for shorting boys here.

You response tells us about your bias while you accuse others of their own.

The great lie is that this has something to do with making women of lesser status. We were created man and woman each with unique roles.Women bare and nurture children all the social engineering in the world will not change this just pervert it.

My daughters have never had a problem competing with and out performing men in academic and leadership settings. This does not mean they don't need a strong man to be a life partner and father of their children.Children with fathers involved in their lives consistently out perform children reared in a fatherless situation. They are consistently more secure, have higher selfesteem, bare less children out of wedlock and spend less time in prison. The womens movement has sold the world a pack of lies straight out of the pits of hell and our society is reaping the results

With the strikeout, this is a good question.

Not unless you have some sort of evidence that there's a genetic, non-political reason for it being so.

Some boys have hope.. my sons will never be treated like second class citizens. The only thing I do differently is tell my sons that if a girl bunches him ,he should drop her... gently. He does have to be careful of any PC police, but he wouldn't get a cross word from me for it.

I ahve been saying for years that anyone who puts their boys in government schools should consider if they are abusing that child. My boys can climb, kick, jump make faces, and get covered in mud ,all the while reading about the theory of flight in the comfort of their own home. In due time I will teach my sons to avoid these girls... I will be straight out why, too. I call that hope.

Something everybody should consider: Larry Flynt and Betty Friedan support the same candidates and causes. Gender roles are natural. Let them happen.

A harder curriculum was instituted that year without any "bridge" work between "too-easy" math and *algebra* (in 4th grade

ALGEBRA in 4th GRADE? I struggled with pre-algebra in 6th grade, and didn't learn Algebra I till I was a high school freshman.(1993)

neatnik, uptight teacher would reprimand my son for squirming in his chair and sitting on his knees to reach the still-too-high "4th grade size" table

I got yelled for that too. I ingored them.

Because school is not challenging beyond learning to navigate the maze of PC behaviour and lingo etc. I think many boys just get dragged along by the current. Way back when, my brother was a terrible student with an attitude until put in a highly competitive, disciplined and challenging environment. He when from D's to high honors. I think this is the case with alot of boys who are just not going to do very well in classrooms that pander to girls. When imaginative daydreamers have 'behaviour problems', boys are told rough-housing is wrong, and girls beat each other up at powder-puff games; something just ain't right with the world.

HOmeschooling is the way to go for boys. No way am I putting any son of mine in public school to sit glued to his seat all day.

You've got that right. I'd always planned to hs anyway, but once we had two boys, there was no other choice. Society is hostile enough to boys, they certainly don't need it coming at them as a part of their education.

Granted mistakes are being made but there is ZERO effort to encourage boys

Where are the parents of these boys and why is the blame being laid at everyone else's feet for their not being taught what rightfully should be taught at home?
